BELC partner municipality Minsk Mazowiecki organised the conference ‘Together Against Depression’

On 6 March 2024, the conference "Together Against Depression" was held in Minsk Mazowiecki under the auspices of the European Commission Representation in Poland. It was conceived and co-organized by Ms. Katarzyna Łaziuk, deputy mayor of Minsk Mazowiecki, BELC's partner city, with partners Europe Direct Minsk Mazowiecki and Minsk County, with support from representatives of the Alliance Against Depression in Piaseczynski County and Team Europe expert Dr. Piotr Toczyski.

The purpose of the event was to build awareness among the local community about mental health, a priority of the European Commission. There were discussions on the importance of residents’ mental health and well-being, and various workshops were held on issues important to senior residents and young people.

Professionals, educators, local leaders, senior citizens and youth attended. Among the invited guests was a student of the School Ambassador of the European Parliament in Minsk Mazowiecki, coordinator of the "Tomorrow begins today" project, who took part in the panel discussion.

The mayor of Minsk Mazowiecki, Minsk's district governor, Deputy Mayor Łaziuk and the deputy district governor of Minsk jointly signed a declaration on behalf of the residents to join the alliance against depression and symbolically pledged their commitment to community mental health.
