BELC partner municipality, Paris’ 17th district’s town hall celebrated with a European event

BELC member Geoffroy Boulard, Mayor of the 17th district of Paris paid tribute to his fellow Europeans on 4 March, 2024, when he welcomed nearly a hundred European residents of his district, as well as a number of representatives of European countries, as well as Jean-Didier Berthault, Paris Councillor in charge of European and International Affairs.

After welcoming his guests, the Mayor presented his arrondissement, the embassies and consulates in it, and the various events organised in conjunction with them. It was also an opportunity for him to talk about the European elections and to remind everyone how important it was to go to the polls on 9 June. The evening ended with a discussion and a friendly drink.

This European event is important for the Mayor and the 2024 edition was special not only because of the organisation of the European elections, but also because of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 2004 EU enlargement, which saw 10 countries joining the Union. To mark this anniversary, the town hall lit up its facade in European colours.
