Polish BELC partner Połczyn Zdrój celebrated the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU

On May 9, 2024, Józef Nizioł, Mayor of Połczyn Zdrój, a BELC partner city had the opportunity to support the 9th year of “Europreschool”. This was a unique undertaking on a national scale aimed at the oldest groups of preschool children. The purpose of the initiative is to instill in young people a sense of belonging to the family of European Union countries by learning about their history and culture.

The current edition was special because it was held on the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union. In sets, characteristic of each EU member state, over 400 pre-school children participated by wearing costumes and presenting national dances they learned. This way, they acquired knowledge about these countries’ history and cultural achievements.

The creator and the main organiser of the initiative is Ms. Zofia Zatorska, director of one of the local kindergartens in Świdwin.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the West Pomeranian Superintendent of Education, the Swidwin Starost (head of the district), the Mayor of Swidwin and the Mayor of Połczyn-Zdrój.
