Romanian BELC member on a mission, meeting young people to explain European opportunities and perspectives

Armin Otvos, Romanian BELC representative from Timiș County, Ciacova, decided to address some of the myths and misinformation about the European Union in a community of students from the Alexandru Mocioni High School. He used different media resources, made available via BELC, and presented them in an appealing communication style for this age group. He also included official data and information, explaining the clear advantages of being part of the EU.

Using real-life examples, Mr. Otvos highlighted concepts like freedom of movement and access to goods and services, giving a clear perspective on the benefits of being European citizens in Romania. Furthermore, the presentation also touched on the Erasmus programme, mentioning the study and cultural exchange opportunities it offers. Around 40 students from grades 10 through 12 attended and expressed genuine interest and curiousity in the topics discussed.

These types of activities by BELC members encourage and motivate young people to be active and responsible citizens of the wider European community.
