Member of EU Local Councillors network, Nikolas Karoullas, councillor of the small town of Aradippou, in Cyprus, hosted an event for young people on 13 November, 2024, that took place in the town hall.
During the interactive evening, the young councillor, who is also the President of the Committee on Youth and Sports, welcomed guests and introduced speakers. Socrates Melis, Directorate-General for Development from the Ministry of Finance held a presentation and talked about opportunities for young people, accessing the labour market through the European Social Fund. This was followed by the session by Dr. Stylianos Mavromoustakos, Director of the European Programmes Management Foundation (IDEP) Lifelong Learning, put an emphasis on ERASMUS+, supporting education, training for Cypriots to study, train, collaborate, and gain experience abroad through the programme that offers opportunities to a wide range of individuals and organisations.
EUROPE DIRECT Information Centre of Larnaca was also present and reminded participants of their availability to support citizens with any EU-related questions they might have.
In the last section of the event, there was a Q&A session for participants to raise any clarifications.
More than 30 people were present at this informative session, organised in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus.
