EU Mobility and Sports Week organised by Croatian BELC partner municipality

The European Mobility and Sports Week was organised in collaboration with the town’s local sports facilities and the association, coordinating sports clubs in town, in order to encourage citizens to take part in sports activities and foster healthy habits, well-being, in line with the 2024 priorities of the overarching European campaign.  

The local transport company also had a key role, emphasizing the usage of sustainable transport methods. Buses of the company carried elementary school students to sports facilities where they engaged with coaches, motivating them to exercise and get acquainted with new sports. During the four-day event, students had the chance to explore tennis, gymnastics, football at the stadium, and running on professional tracks.  

During the week, Karlovac also promoted several other projects, such as the Interreg "Citywalk 2.0" that aims to redesign streets to encourage active mobility and discourage car use, as well as the town twinning project "We Join Forces for a Green Future,", focusing on environmentally friendly practices.
